The scientific and practical journal «Transbaikalian Medical Bulletin » is a peer-reviewed publication registered by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications and Mass Media. The journal registration number is El No. FS77-34784, dated December 24, 2008.

In July 2018, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media amended the journal's registration to FS77-73212 due to a change in language, form of publication, founder’s name, and subject matter. 

Since 2011, Issue No. 1 of the electronic journal of «Transbaikalian Medical Bulletin» has been included in the list of Russian scientific journals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science for publication of the main results of theses for seeking degrees of Candidate and Doctor of Science.

The journal is published quarterly. It is available exclusively in digital format and accepts original research articles and review articles on current issues in biomedical sciences and basic and clinical medicine.

The journal is included in the RRCI bibliographic database. 

The Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has conducted the categorization of scientific journals from the List of Higher Attestation Commission into categories K1, K2, and K3 in 2023.
