<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The problem of nutritional support for children undergoing palliative care is very relevant, since such patients have pronounced health features that significantly affect the ability to receive and absorb the substances necessary for full life. This review is illustrated by two clinical cases that describe the features of the nutritional status in children depending on the chosen tactics regarding nutrition. A child with severe dysphagia, feeding independently, has a severe body weight deficit and an extremely unfavorable prognosis for life. In turn, a patient with the same neurological problems, but receiving nutrition through a gastrostomy, has nutritional status indicators within the normal range. Due to this, the child has a more favorable prognosis for life. We believe that when severe dysphagia is detected, a gastrostomy is the optimal method of feeding in patients with cerebral palsy, as the most effective and safe method of nutritional support.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>нутритивная недостаточность</kwd><kwd>питание</kwd><kwd>гастростома</kwd><kwd>паллиативный статус</kwd><kwd>дисфагия</kwd><kwd>детский церебральный паралич</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>nutritional deficiency</kwd><kwd>nutrition</kwd><kwd>gastrostomy</kwd><kwd>palliative status</kwd><kwd>dysphagia</kwd><kwd>cerebral palsy</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Иванова Н.А.
